Good Morning World! It's a beautiful but very cool morning. After the front with the storms came through it has really cooled down, but will be warmer in the next few days.

We had a very boring week. No medical problems, no major catastrophes in the family, the storms we got were not as severe as some. Just a normal week.

Bill got a summons for jury duty that starts while we are at Mayo. I called the clerk's office and they said he still had to send in the form, with that put as a reason to be excused. Of course, he's still supposed to show up the first day to see if they have excused him. But, that's not going to happen. If it's a problem, we'll just pay the fine and move on. Normally I don't advocate getting out of jury duty as I think everyone should serve if they are summoned, but there comes a time when you have to.

We've been having problems with the kids next door. They've only lived there about a month and they same to think that our yard is the yard to play in and not theirs. I don't mind them playing in the yard if they aren't bothering things, but they life to climb one of our trees. These trees are only 5 years old, so they are still rather fragile. We've asked them to stay out of the tree and they will leave but in a couple of days they are back. Well, yesterday, they broke a branch. It was the lowest one and the one they could reach and hang on. Bill was really angry about it and told them to leave the yard and not come back. Who knows how long it will last. They have a much stronger tree in their front yard, but they can't reach the lowest branches. It will be a very long summer if this keeps up. I don't want to turn into the mean old lady of the neighborhood! We had one of those when I was a kid. My mother will know who I mean when I say I don't want to turn into "The Cat Lady"!

Brianna's high school softball team finally won a game this week, and she was the winning pitcher and got the game ball! There's also going to be a picture in the paper of her mid-pitch. We're really proud of her! Kayden's baseball season starts Tuesday and McKenna's starts the next week. I don't know if we will get to any of the games, just have to see. Kiyann isn't playing this year, she's into planting flowers.

We did find out we're getting a new great-grandchild in September. Aimee wanted to know how many this would make and I had to ask her how many grandchildren she had before I could figure it out. We're up to 34 grandchildren and it will be 15 great-grandchildren with this new one!

All for this week, normal and boring is good!

  1. Holy cow, that's a lot of grands and greats! Birthdays and Christmas must be quite costly!

  2. We solved that by sending each family the same amount of money whether they have no kids or 5 kids. The adult grandkids who haven't given us an address don't get anything, which may seem harsh, but if they don't stay in touch, even by phone, they don't get anything. May sound harsh but that's what we decided. We only have 1 adult grandson that gave us his address, and he gets a smaller check.
